What exactly happens when you make a late payment, and when are payments really considered late? It turns out that while your account may be technically past due, there is a 30-day waiting period before your credit card issuer can report your account as “late.” This isn’t an excuse to be late on payments, however, because you’ll still suffer the consequences from your card issuer.
